A History of Connection

The history of life is one of continual change preceding death. Just as those two opposite concepts are connected, so is everything in between.

An invisible string links all that is.

Our mere existence influences the universe, and so does every single subatomic particle, each to a different extent.

This idea of universal origin and connection has different manifestations in every culture:

In east Asian folklore, the myth of the red thread of fate states that two people connected by it are bound together by fate itself, as they are destined lovers.

In Greek philosophy, the concept apeiron designates infinite, indeterminate matter, from where everything leaves and everything returns to.

And in recent years, different theories —such as the resonance theory of consciousness— aim to understand how all things in our universe communicate to form different levels of consciousness, including our self-awareness.

This project aims to reinterpret those ideas through images and poetry, presenting multiple stories into one cohesive body of work. Each image works as an opposite/complement to another image, which creates an invisible relationship and a puzzle for the viewer to solve.

mientras envuelves con tus alas tibias mi muerte.
